What is a ShareTo Account?

A ShareTo account is a standard user account in our system, made distinct by the fact that assets are shared into it by another (owning) account. Users in a ShareTo account can only view the assets that have been explicitly shared with them—they do not have access to all assets owned by the sharing company.

🔒 Limited Access

Assets shared to a ShareTo account:

• Provide read-only access (no editing capabilities)

• May include visibility of attachments and notes (if enabled)

• Appear in reports and dashboards—filtered to only what’s been shared

Example:
Company ABC rents five assets to Z Supply. ABC shares those five assets with Z Supply’s ShareTo account. Z Supply can only see and report on those five—nothing else in ABC’s account is visible.
